management
of gastritis
- Patients with acute gastritis require bed rest. Next he must used to eat regularly and avoid foods that are stimulating.
- The complaint will go away with antacids (Al. Hydroxide, Mg Hydroxide) given at bedtime, morning, and between meals.
- If the vomiting until the interrupt may be given tablets metoclopramide 10 mg, 1 hour before meals.
- If severe pain can be combined with cimetidine 200 mg 2 x daily or ranitidine 150 mg 2 x daily
- Patients with signs of bleeding such as hematemesis or melena need immediately referred to hospital because of the possibility of bleeding in peptic ulcers which can be perforated.
